കോഴിക്കോട് സാമൂതിരി രാജാവിന്റെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയിൽ നടന്നിരുന്ന തർക്കശാസ്ത്ര സദസ്സ് അഥവാ പട്ടത്താനം ആണ് രേവതി പട്ടത്താനം. തുലാം മാസത്തിന്റെ രേവതി നാളിൽ തുടങ്ങുന്നുവെന്നതിനാൽ‍ രേവതി പട്ടത്താനം എന്നു് വിളിച്ചു് പോരുന്നു. മലബാറിലേക്ക് ടിപ്പുവിന്റെ ആക്രമണമുണ്ടാകുന്ന കാലം വരേയ്ക്കും രേവതി പട്ടത്താനം തുടർച്ചയായി നടന്നു പോന്നിരുന്നു. പതിനെട്ടരക്കവികളുടെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യം രേവതി പട്ടത്താനത്തിനു് ഭാരതീയതർക്കശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും കേരളീയ സാംസ്കാരികവേദിയിലും ഖ്യാതി നേടിക്കൊടുത്തു. മുരാരിയുടെ അനർഘരാഘവത്തിനു വിക്രമീയം എന്ന വ്യാഖ്യാനം രചിച്ച മാനവിക്രമൻ ‍(1466-1478) ആയിരുന്നു പട്ടത്താനത്തിൽ പ്രമുഖനായ സാ‍മൂതിരി. രേവതി പട്ടത്താനം, തളിയിൽ താനം എന്നും അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് ഇതു നടത്തിവരുന്നത് പട്ടത്താനസമിതിയാണ്. ഇന്നത്തെ സാമൂതിരി ഇതിന് സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിക്കാനെത്താറുണ്ട്.  വിജയികൾക്കു പണക്കിഴിയും പട്ടത്താനവും കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു. 51 പുത്തൻപണം ( പതിനാലു് ഉറുപ്പിക അമ്പത്താറു് പൈസ) അടങ്ങിയ കിഴിയാണു് ലഭിക്കുക. പ്രഭാകരമീമാംസ, വ്യാകരണം, വേദാന്തം എന്നീ...

Puthari Thiruvappana festival, conducted on 16 Vrichikam (this Malayalam day corresponds to 1 or 2 December), is the first Thiruvappana of the temple year. It is associated with the harvesting season of the region. The last Thiruvappana of the temple year is on 30 Kanni every year.

The event falls on Feb 5. It is held in the Pattambi Mosque on the main road of Pattambi town, Palakkad district. Pattambi Nercha is a festival held in memory of Aloor Valiya Pookunjikoya Thangal, a Muslim saint of Malabar.

A grand ceremony wherein a special feast is prepared for the elephants, the Njangattiri Aanayoottu ritual is held in the Njangattiri Bhagavathi Temple at Pattambi in the Palakkad district. In the Aanayoottu (Aanayoottu meaning feeding of elephants) ceremony, the elephants are fed specially medicated food.
